The Sun is card nineteen, one of the happiest cards in the deck: it brings joy, success, warmth and clarity. Upright, things are going well, or about to, and you can be fully yourself. Look at the child on the white horse, arms open wide.
Sunflowers lean over the garden wall, a red banner streams out in the breeze, and the sun looks down on it all: confidence, vitality and the simple pleasure of being alive. Turn the card around, and the Sun is still positive, just dimmer. Success may be delayed, or you’re finding it hard to feel the joy that’s already there.
Sometimes it warns of overconfidence or of expecting everything to be perfect. Look for the good that’s already present, lower the bar for happiness a little, and let things be simpler than you’re making them. In love, the Sun brings happiness, warmth and openness: an easy, joyful relationship, a new love, or a happy milestone.
It favours honesty and having fun together. At work, it signals success and recognition: your efforts pay off, so take the lead or put yourself forward. With money, your hard work starts to show: enjoy it, and let it grow like the sunflowers.
And as a yes or no? Yes, clearly: the strongest yes in the tarot. Go ahead with confidence.
