The Lily
The Lily is a five-card spread for one question: will this relationship grow? It looks at you, at the bond between you, and at what’s going on under the surface.
The Lily has five positions. Card 1 is you. Card 2, the relationship, is laid across card 1, because the bond and the person in it can’t be pulled apart. Card 3 is the emotions at work, card 4 the hidden factors, and card 5 the outcome: where things are heading as they are.
Read cards 1 and 2 as a pair first. How do you meet the relationship, and how does it meet you? A hopeful card for you across a cautious card for the bond might mean you’re ready for more than the relationship can carry yet. Two warm cards together are a good foundation for everything that follows.
The Emotions card shows the feelings in play, yours and the ones moving between you. It’s often the most honest card in the spread: what you feel, even if you haven’t said it.
The Hidden factors card is the one to read with care. It shows what’s underneath: something avoided, a worry, an old pattern, a need nobody has named. It doesn’t reveal the other person’s secret thoughts. Read it as “what isn’t on the table yet”, and ask what would change if it were.
The Outcome shows the direction of growth, not a promise or a deadline. If it’s bright, ask what helps it along; if it’s hard, look back at the Hidden factors card: that’s often where the work is.
