Your First Reading

It’s your turn. You’ll see a full three-card reading, then read three cards for a real question, with Quinn giving feedback along the way.

What this module taught you

  1. Reading the Question You’re AskedRead for the question you’re asked, “Will I…?” included, as an interpretation: tarot suggests, it doesn’t predict or read minds.Revisit →
  2. The One-Card ReadingOne question, one card: describe it first, then let the question pick the details that matter.Revisit →
  3. The Three-Card ReadingChoose positions before you draw, read each card for its position, then say what each one adds.Revisit →
The method you’ll use now
  1. 1Asktake the question as it’s asked, and note what the cards can and can’t say.
  2. 2Placechoose three positions before you draw.
  3. 3Lookdescribe each card before you interpret it.
  4. 4Answerread each card for its position.
  5. 5Joinsay how the three connect, and what each one adds.

Here’s the whole method in one reading. The question is taken as it was asked. The positions were chosen first: situation, challenge, advice. Each card is described before it’s read, then read for its own position.

Then the cards are joined, and every card has to earn its place. Finally, pick one card and ask: what else could it mean here? You don’t have to choose the alternative, but you should be able to say why your first reading fits better. If a card makes no sense, don’t force it: note it as a question.

Your exercise: a three-card reading

Practise a full three-card reading. A client brings a question, you draw three cards into situation, challenge and advice, and read each one for its place. Then Quinn looks at your reading.

Key takeaways

  1. 1Answer the question you’re asked, as an interpretation, not a certainty.
  2. 2Choose positions before you draw.
  3. 3Describe each card, then read it for its position.
  4. 4Say what each card adds, and consider one alternative.
What’s next

You can look at a card, ask a useful question and read for someone. Readers grow by reading, so keep going.

Practise with Quinn

The same practice as the course: a client brings a question, you pick the cards and read, and Quinn rates your reading.
