Pages and Knights: Learning and Pursuit
Pages and Knights are the first two ranks. A Page is curious and still learning. A Knight has learned enough to act, and is chasing something.

Pages are the student stage of each suit: curious, eager, not yet experienced. A Page isn’t necessarily young; it’s anyone starting to learn. The Page of Pentacles stands in a green field, holding a coin up and gazing at it closely. The Page of Cups looks at a fish peeking out of a cup: a playful surprise.

The Page of Swords stands on uneven ground, sword raised, glancing back over a shoulder: alert and watchful. The Page of Wands looks up at the top of a tall staff: eager to explore. Pages can also bring news. Ask: what am I curious about, and is there a message worth hearing?
PursuitKnights

Every Knight rides a horse, and the horse is your best clue. How fast is it moving? The Knight of Wands rides a rearing horse across a desert: bold, maybe impatient. The Knight of Swords charges at full gallop while trees bend in the wind: fast, direct, perhaps reckless.

The Knight of Cups rides at a walk, holding out a cup: gentle and offering. The Knight of Pentacles sits on a horse standing still in a ploughed field: steady, patient, perhaps slow. Same rank, four paces. Ask: how is this being pursued, and is the pace right?
Reading them together
A Page explores; a Knight acts. When one turns up, ask whether the moment calls for learning more or for moving, and at what speed.
