The Chariot is card seven: determination, focus, and the victory that comes through self-control. Upright, it says opposing forces can be steered one way, if you keep your eyes on the goal. Look at the driver: in armour, a star on the crown, and no reins in sight.

A black sphinx and a white one pull the chariot together. The starry canopy is the sky above, the winged disc is drive, and the town is left behind for the open road. Turn the card around, and the Chariot loses direction.

You might be pulled two ways at once, or pushing hard without a clear aim. If it feels like circumstances are driving you, stop and steer. Decide where you’re actually going before you spend more energy.

Reversed, it can also mean a trip or a plan on hold. In love, the Chariot is about going after what you want and working through differences together. It asks for both of you to pull in the same direction.

At work, it’s a winning card: ambition, a promotion, a project pushed through with discipline. With money, stay in control, or it can grow wings and fly off like that golden disc. And as a yes or no?

Yes, if you stay determined: keep driving towards it.

Upright

The Chariot shows a figure in armour riding a chariot drawn by two sphinxes, one black and one white, with no reins in sight. Direction comes from willpower alone. Upright, the card is about determination, focus and victory through self-control. Opposing forces, inside you or around you, can be steered one way if you keep your eyes on the goal. Movement, travel and progress are all part of its message.

Reversed

Reversed, the Chariot loses direction. You might be pulled two ways at once, pushing hard without a clear aim, or feel that circumstances are driving you instead of the other way round. Frustration, delays and scattered effort are common. Stop and steer: decide where you’re actually going before spending more energy. It can also mean a trip or plan is on hold.

Love

In love, the Chariot is about going after what you want and working through differences together. It can show a relationship moving forward quickly, or one that needs both people pulling in the same direction. Reversed, a power struggle, or one partner racing ahead of the other, could be causing tension.

Career and money

At work, the Chariot is a winning card: ambition, competition and hard-earned success. It favours pushing a project through, going for a promotion, or launching with discipline. Stay focused and don’t let distractions take the reins. Reversed, you may be working flat out without results, and a clearer strategy would help more than extra effort.

Yes or no

Yes

Yes, if you stay determined. The Chariot says success comes through focus and effort, so the answer is positive as long as you keep driving towards it.
